Robert Streubel, assistant professor in the Deparment of Physics and Astronomy, received a FIRST award, which helps early-career, tenure-track faculty initiate research programs and compete more effectively for National Science Foundation (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) grants.
The competitive grant program comes from Nebraska's Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR), funded by the NSF. EPSCoR's mission is to increase research, education and training capacity and competitiveness.
Streubel heads a research group that investigates the potential of harnessing curvature and disorder for 3D nano magnetism.
