Enders, Dowben, and Team Create New 2D Material

Computer model of Monolayer Hexagonal Boron-Carbon-Nitrogen

As recently highlighted by the Daily Nebraskan, Adjunct Professor Axel Enders, Professor Peter Dowben, and researchers in MRSEC have developed a new 2D material. The material, Monolayer Hexagonal Boron-Carbon-Nitrogen (h-BCN), could be a breakthrough in ultrathin technologies.

Research associate Sumit Beniwal and graduate student Paulo Costa, co-authors on the paper, are also quoted by the Daily Nebraskan.

The group published their results in ACS Nano.

H-BCN was created in conjunction with five universities: Jagiellonian University, State University of New York at Buffalo, Boston College, Tufts University, and Universität Bayreuth.
