The U.S. Department of Energy Office of Basic Energy Sciences (BES) featured research by Assistant Professor Martin Centurion in a recent science highlight. The highlight discusses Centurion's recent publication in Nature Communications in which Centurion and his team imaged chemical reactions at 100-femtosecond resolution, or images at the speed of atomic processes. This research will further our understanding of how molecular structure changes during reactions.
The UNL researchers worked in collaboration with researchers at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. The work is supported by BES and Scientific User Facilities Division Accelerator and Detector R&D and Chemical Sciences, Geosciences, & Biosciences Division Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Sciences programs.
