  • Once you are done taking data, select the "Data Table" option under the "View"
    menu. Select your data (time, x and y position) and copy and paste, or export, it
    into an Excel spreadsheet. Remember to save your Excelfile frequently!


Use Excel to analyze your data:

Since you skipped frames, there are many blank cells. Select the cells containing
time and position data, and sortby the y position of either ball in order to get the
blank cells out of the way. Remember to sort in Ascending or Descending order
(you choose) to keep the earlier data points towards the top of the spreadsheet.

Making Graphs with Excel


The spreadsheet software can also graph data for you. Highlight the
data you want graphed and then click the Graph Wizard button.

If you would like to fit some data with an equation, first make a graph showing
only the data you want to fit. Double click on that graph to make it active.
Select the data series you wish to fit by clicking once on one of the data points.
The entire set of data should then be highlighted. Select Trendline... under the
Insert menu.

Choose the type of fit you would like (linear or polynomial or ....).
Options and select "Display equation on Chart".
