Day6

Outline:

Finishing Up Lesson 1: Particle Motion in Electric Fields

  1. Learning to use Interactive Physics

Fall, 1997

September 16, 1997

  1. Computer Modeling CM-6.1- Motion of a charge in a constant field

Study the motion of charged particles in a constant electric field
  1. Computer Modeling CM-6.2- Motion of a charge near a concentrated

    charge
  1. Homework for next class -

From your results in CM-6.1, analyze the data from five different

events, one of mimimal deflection [but not zero], one of

maximum deflection, and three in between those two values.

In your analysis give all of the initial and final values of the

related parameters and calculate the initial [just after launch]

and final [just before striking the screen] values of the energy

of the moving particle. Comment on any gain or loss in

energy? From where did it come or to where did it go?
