  • Homework-Due Thursday, Dec. 4
  • Reflection-Task 1
  1. Carefully draw a picture of a yourself standing in front of full-length
mirror on a vertical wall. Draw a ray diagram representing the light rays
coming from the your feet and your head as seen by your eyes.
  2. Include a brief discussion of any physics principles you apply as you draw
    this diagram.
  3. Based on the diagram, how long does the mirror need to be in order for
    you, a person of height
hand standing a distance rfrom the mirror, to be
able to see your whole reflection? Sketch the location of such a mirror on
the wall. [Hint: the your eyes are a distance
dbelow the top of your head.].
How is the length of the mirror related to the distance
    ryou are standing
    from the mirror?
  • Bending Light-Task 2
  1. Complete the numerical analysis on the bending light page.
  2. Use the InfoMall to find a reference to Snell's Law and give the citation.
  3. Compare your numerical results from your analysis of bending light to the
    theoretical results from Snell's law.
